Watercolour Antique Volkswagen

This weekend, we were assigned the task of painting an antique Volkswagen in watercolour, which instantly brought back memories of the purple one my aunt used to own. As I started sketching, I thought, “It’s just a simple car—no intricate parts or complex design.” I was confident I’d finish the painting during class and leave with no homework.

However, it wasn’t as simple as I had assumed. Once again, I couldn’t complete the painting on time. When I got home, I found myself continuing to work on the details—the car windows, the driver, and the tyres. Finally, I added some finishing touches, including a 4D number on the license plate. 😄

As usual, I shared my painting on social media. My instructor saw it and left a comment: “Your painting is simple. You must be a simple person at heart.”

Yes, “sometimes” I am. But in a complicated world, it’s not always easy to keep a simple heart.

“When we paint, we often unintentionally reveal the inner world of our hearts. Follow your heart, embrace your style, and create art that is uniquely yours.”
